Yes, yes, I know I know there are million fan sites and blogs out there about Star Wars The Old Republic, about a dozen podcasts, and a couple thousand you tube videos to boot. So, why should I bother blogging about my experience when there are so many other blogs out there that are quite good? Well, in short, I am not sure. I am hopeful that I may be able to figure it out myself as I develop this blog over time.
First I guess I should relate a little of my history with the game. Like so many other I eagerly awaited its release and drooled over the trailers that came out before the game. When the game did come out, I signed on and began my SWTOR experience. As in any MMORPG I am a total altaholic. I leveled just about one of everything to level 20 or so before becoming a little bored with the game. I went back to World of Warcraft. Prior to the release of Mists of Pandaria I returned to SWTOR and actually did level an Imperial Agent to level 55 and a bounty hunter to about 41ish. But alas, Warcraft raiding called me back. Now that Mists is a little long in the tooth, I went back to SWTOR in May of this year and have been having a great time so far. To start back this time, I started a brand new set of characters on a brand new server.
One of the new challenges for me with this most recent experience is through a chain of random events I ended up on an RP server. Having no experience with RP, I knew right away I was over my head. However, I have to say that my guildies have been very supportive and have nudged me in the right direction. I am still very much an RP novice, but I know that I am with the a great group of people to learn and grow in that area.
To that end I have established a Bounty Hunter as my main and have leveled up to level 42 so far. I want to finish leveling to 55 and will hopefully be running ops sometime in early fall. I hope to be able to share some of that experience with my readers as I go, so please check back often.
